South Korea One of the most beautiful places in the world.
With very distinct seasons it will beckon you to visit the country at least
twice if not more. The distinct season of Blossoms during Spring gives a
completely different picture of the country which soothes your eyes and soul
with every passing street whilst the Autumn is the season of flaming red and
yellow trees all over setting your mood for high energy and enthusiasm.
I visited during the Autumn Season and have promised myself
to visit yet again in the Autumn season as I missed out on the full bloomed
beauty of the Ginko Trees. One needs to be perfectly timed to be able to see
the Autumn colors in all its glory. The first week of November is suggested by
our very own driver and guide, Michael. One must visit the Seoraksan NationalPark not only for the
destination but also for the scenic road it goes through and the number of long
tunnels one has to cross for the same. A day in the national park is always
well spent. The Big Budhha statue or the Chinese Temple or the top of the
mountain with street foods and lavish lunches will complete your day and add
loads of memory to your Trip. Once you reach the top of Seoraksan Mountain, the
jagged mountains surrounding the top at one end and the East Japan Sea at the
other end makes for a spectacular view. One doesn’t want to climb down and
likes to enjoy the fresh weather and incredible sights at leisure.
Next you must go to Nami Island, quite famous all throughout
the world for the Famous Korean Drama Series, The Winter Sonata. Here you would
find an excellent landscape of various Trees which turns into Red/Orange/Yellow
during Autumn time and huge lakes and water body all around it. Loads of
activities from cycling to electric biking to ziplining to Nami island tour
with guide to Winter Sonata memoirs. Famous Rice pancakes to huge softy ice
cream cones to other Korean delicacies, the place also have your hunger and
thirst sorted. Beautiful and creative souvenirs are also easily available. Once
island hopping is completed, one can visit the Petite France a small little man
made French village which has cute little things reminding you of the colonials
and French architecture and French aesthetics generously spread everywhere.
Have a cup of Korean Citron Tea with your loved one in the cafes and enjoy the
rest of the evening in Nami Island area. Also, you can pay a visit to a popular tourist place called the Rail Park. It has manual rail bikes with scenic landscapes around you and few tunnels highlighted with dancing lights and themed music. I enjoyed the trip. One would if they are in a good company. Solos, avoid.
The City of Seoul is also beautiful and leaves you asking
for more when you are about to leave. Whether it is the royalty of Gyeongbokgung
Palace or the Popular Seoul Tower or the diversity of modern and heritage
buildings culmination site of Deoksugung or the market places with
diverse inexpensive items of Myeongdong & Insadong Markets or the
famous Lotte World Mall along with loads of places to eat and try their Local
cuisines and customs. Be joyful seeing lots of young girls local and tourist
alike wearing their traditional dress either rented or bought from the city
roaming around. World cuisines are available at every famous market and one can
enjoy as their taste goes.
I will recommend everyone for a visit to Seoul as this not
so popular destination has a lot to offer. I am planning to visit during Spring
and again in Winter (for the snow clad look) soon and give you guys a
comparison view of which season is the best here.
